Yesterday I went to see a customer in Preston. A town in the north west of England, about 250 miles from London. I'd forgotten how quirky the north can be. Within 5 minutes of getting off the train I'd seen a police woman with a mohican haircut, and a nun, in full garb, having a driving lesson (her first lesson I would guess...)
I wanted to take a picture of the police woman and post it here, and she probably would have been more than happy to accommodate me, but living in the south for 12 years means I've become more accustomed to the general grumpiness of folk down here. So I didn't trust that her reaction wouldn't result in handcuffs (which would have been difficult to explain to my customer).
I'll see if I can catch her on my next visit.....
